All You Need To Know To Start Watching Marvel’s WandaVision

It’s a really good day to be a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan. WandaVision finally premiered on Disney +.

After Chris Evans broke everyone’s heart yesterday shutting down all the rumors he’s in talks to reprise his role as Captain America. Marvel fans woke up to two episodes of the long-anticipated series and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint.

I Love Lucy meets Bewitched is a pretty good way to describe Wanda Vision, that plus incredible cast performances, I can predict is going to be a hit series compared to all the other tv adaptations of Marvel characters.

I have to admit my knowledge of Marvel Movies is very limited, that’s why I team up with my friend and Marvel expert Rosa to come up with a guide of all you need to know about WandaVision.

Sit back relax and keep reading for  all things Wanda Vision.

CHARACTER STORIES

We first see Wanda at the end of the post-credit scene of Captain America the Winter Soldier.

Vision is introduced to the cinematic universe in Avengers Age of Ultron the second installment of the marvel superheroes team-up movies.

After that, they were regulars in the Avengers movies. Wanda Vision is the first close look at both characters.

Wanda Maximoff

Better known as Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff is the twin sister to Pietro Maximoff alias QuickSilver. In Avengers Age of Ultron, Wanda and her brother join forces with Ultron to destroy the Avengers, Until  Wanda realizes Ultron’s true intentions. Once they know Ultron’s real plans She and her brother help the Avengers defeat Ultron. While helping the avengers, her twin brother sacrifices himself to save Hawkeye. At the end of Avengers Age of Ultron, we see that Wanda has joined the Avengers. Wanda poses all the abilities of a witch: telekinesis, telepathy, Magic, reality alteration, mental manipulation among others.

We don’t know much about what happened to her after Avengers End Game, the last time we saw her was at Tony Stark’s funeral but I’m guessing we are about to find out during this 9 episode series.

Vision

His story is a little bit more complicated than Wanda’s. Vision is an android created by a Marvel Villain named Ultron. Using the mind stone, Ultron created a body with the help of Helen Cho.

He had plans of taking this body to create the perfect form for himself until The Avengers take the body from Ultron. Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne upload Stark’s personal A.I. Jarvis into the body. Then Vision was born.

Vision helps the Avengers defeat Ultron alongside Wanda and her brother. At the end of the movie, we see he has joined the Avengers. Vision has Superhuman senses, speed, strength, flight, and the ability to process information and make calculations. He can also alter his physical properties which allows him to phase through solid objects.

In Avenger Infinity War, Thanos kills Vision to get his hands on the mind stone. The last one he needed to snap his fingers and eliminate half of the existence as we know it and half of the Avengers.

WANDA & VISION THROUGH THE CINEMATIC UNIVERSE

Wanda & Vision are minor characters in the Cinematic Universe, what we know about their relationship is very little. They met during Age of Ultron, during the epic battle against Ultron Vision chooses to save her.

In Captain American Civil War, we start seeing into Wanda & Vision’s relationship. It gets tested with the introduction of the Sokovia Accords, which gave the government more oversight over superheroes. This put them on different sides. Vision stands with Tony Stark aka Ironman who’s pro-Sokovia, while Wanda is team Captain America who is against it. This causes them to split up and use their power against each other. By the end of the movie, we see that Wanda and the rest of the Team Cap are in custody (Superhero Jail). We then see Captain America has come to rescue them.

In Infinity War it’s revealed that the couple is meeting in secret to figure out their relationship post Civil War. Thanos’s children attack Wanda and Vision to try to take the infinity stone but fail. Vision is injured during the battle. He is taken to Wakanda. In Wakanda, they try to remove the mind stone from Visions head before Thanos comes back for it.

Thanos’s army attacks Wakanda, towards the end of the battle vision tells Wanda to destroy the mind stone before Thanos takes it from him. Vision prefers they destroy it instead of allowing Thanos to get the last stone. A grieving Wanda destroys the stone, which destroys vision. When Thanos sees this he uses the time stone to bring Vision back, he then attacks Wanda and grabs vision, and removes the stone from Visions head. Vision is killed right in front of Wanda.

Tragic right? Poor girl… This leads me to the last thing you need to know.

WANDA VISION

The 9 episode Disney+ original series takes place after the events of Avengers: End Game.

Using the classic sitcom format. Wanda & Vision live in a Pleasantville kind of suburbs while they quickly realize nothing is what it seems.

Wanda & Vision are happily married in this alternate world, they both live like normal people and seem to not know much about their relationship.

Did somebody trap Wanda in a sitcom? Did she trap herself so she can live happily ever after with Vision? We will have to wait and see what this new Marvel original has to show us, and right now with only two episodes, it is looking that is going to be a hell of a ride for everyone who’s watching.
